Research

The Museum holds artefacts, archives and records of the 49th, 62nd, 66th and 99th Regiments of Foot, The Royal Berkshire Regiment, The Wiltshire Regiment and The Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment. The archivist will use these records to answer on-line enquiries into family history when it relates to an ancestor who served in any of our former Regiments.

Light training only was carried out. Advance parties from 11TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS came up during the day. Weather:- fine day. Remarks 1 OR to Hospital sick. Weekly State "A14"

Each regiment maintained a Digest of Service. This was a journal which recorded events in the life of the regiment. There was no set format and the amount of detail varied between regiments. Summary information has been extracted, and is presented here, from each of the four regiments' digests run from their formation until 1914.
