Salisbury Family Folk Festival, Sunday 8th June 2025

As if one Folk Festival wasn't enough, join us on Sunday 8th June for day two! 

Join us here at The Wardrobe for a series of folk-themed workshops aimed at families with children of all ages. Led by folk musician Emily Askew, a multi-instrumentalist and experienced teacher of music workshops, we'll be putting on a fun day for

Workshops include: 
10:00-10:45 - Under 5s Music, Song and Dance Workshop (£8 per adult and child)

Join Emily with some familiar favourites and brand new songs too. There will be opportunities to sing, dance, play shakers, wave scarves and listen to Emily's range of instruments including fiddle, melodeon, harp, crumhorn, bagpipes, recorders and cello.

11:00-11:45- Primary Age Music, Song and Dance Workshop- £8 per person

Hazel Askew (Lady Maisery/Askew Sisters) will be teaching some catchy folk songs. Emily Askew will be teaching some dance (Morris/Ceilidh) and if you are above Grade 1 standard, do feel free to bring your instruments and create a big band together! 

12:00-12:45 Secondary Age Music and Song Workshop- £8 per person

Hazel Askew will be teaching some catchy folk songs and John Dipper (Dipper Malkin) will be leading an instrumental workshop focussing on folk dance tunes. Instrumental Grade 3 and above. Singers of all levels. Please let us know in advance, (using the contact details at the bottom of this page), if you have a transposing instrument.

14:00-16:00 Family Ceilidh- £12 for 1 adult and 1 child | £20 for family (Max 2 adults + 2 children) | £8 per extra adult | £4 per extra child

Ceilidh dances area social event for everybody to join in, whatever your age or experience! Our friendly caller will guide you through each dance, starting by talking it through slowly, before walking it through. Then our fantastic ceilidh band will strike up for you to dance to!
