Entry (Monday) 2.20a.m. Orders to turn out and proceed to CHASSEMY. Battn left at 2.50a.m. and reached wood 1/2 mile S of CHASSEMY at 4a.m. Reported to OC CHASSEMY and put out posts. Remained halted until 5.55a.m. when Battn returned to BRAINE. 11.10a.m. Received orders to return to CHASSEMY and relieve 2nd R I R by 5p.m. 2.30p.m. Marched for CHASSEMY by covered route, and took over outpost line from the 2nd R I R. A coy in reserve remainder & M Gun section in the outpost line. 1st & 6th Division in the trenches were engaged, but, our outposts unmolested. CHESSEMY was shelled for a time, no casualties.
