Entry	7th Inf Bde retired to position at Gommignies and were driven out by enemy's superior forces retiring on SOLESMES, where at dusk Wilts and South Lancs fought a rearguard action and, after severe engagement retired under cover of darkness to COUDRY enemy did not pursue, but, shelled the town of SOLESMES.
