Entry 7.22a.m. 1st Train Lieut Col A W Hasted Commanding. Strength 505 all ranks. 2nd Train Major A S Barnes Commanding. Strength 509 all ranks. Left TIDWORTH 9.12 a.m. 1st Train arrived SOUTHAMPTON Docks and detrained at Shed 23. 11a.m. 1st Train commenced embarking on SS South Western: much delay in embarkation of vehicles as hatch very small and all shafts and the wheels of G.S. wagons had to be removed. All horses (these had to be boxed and slung) and vehicles on board by 4.15p.m. 4.15p.m. Troops embarked. 4.30p.m. Vessel sailed. 7.15p.m. Anchored in Sandown Bay. 10.45a.m. 2nd Train arrived at SOUTHAMPTON and commenced embarkation on S.S. Princess Ena. 2.30p.m. Cast off.
