Location | France, Rouen |
Entry | October 1916 The Battalion remained in camp in NO 3 Labor Camp Rouen - Handling goods at wharfs and Depots to the end of the month, extremely long hours of labour were experienced and steps taken to remedy the same. Advantage was taken of the permission to obtain a working suit, to see that every man was adequately dressed, the clothing and more especially the trousers having "given out" from hard labour work since June 1916. 2/Lt R G Cox, joined the Royal Flying Corps as observer on probation. The Camp drainage scheme stood the test of the tropical downfalls and wind: on 21st and 22nd October hard frost was experienced, with water freezing in the basins in the tents. The issue of a third blanket per man was authorised. Further progress was made with various Interior Economy matters of the Battalion.
