War Diary

Regiment 8th Royal Berkshire
Location France, BERTRY
Entry The draft for the Army of Occupation left. The two Coys and HD Qr. formed, as shown in App III paraded at 10.00 hrs under Capt W.C. Molland after a short address by the Comd Off. They marched to CAUDRY and entrained there. The departure of this draft emphasised very clearly the pending dissolution of the Batt and although many men had already left for demobilization, the loss of these 2 Officers and 257 men was "the most unkindest cut of all." The remainder of the Batt was organised into one Coy for purposes of commd etc under Capt L. Woodhouse.
