Regiment | 8th Royal Berkshire |
---|---|
Location | France, BEAUREVOIR |
Entry | 10:00. Battalion moved from billets to BERTRY. The billeting area was around one station. The march over was rendered difficult owing to the bad state of the roads, which were very slippery owing to recent thaw and frosts. The loss of the Band, most of the players had been demobilized, was felt. The billets on the whole were good, although "A" Coy were in a large factory with stone floor and very little heating apparatus. During our stay at BERTRY, field ovens were built, electric light laid on to the billets and owing to demobilization "A" Coy were able to move away from the above mentioned factory. The Batt was perhaps as comfortably billeted as ever in its history in France. |
