War Diary

1918-12-06
Regiment 8th Royal Berkshire
Location France, BEAUREVOIR
Entry Parliamentary Election ballot papers and instructions began to arrive. The 2nd-in-Command, Major S.W. WARR MC, started on a very ambitious scheme to improve the feeding arrangements of the Battalion. During the month a dismantled factory used by the Bosche as stables and badly damaged by shell fire, was cleared, repaired and made weather proof. Field ovens were built and tables and forms made. Within the course of a week or so the whole Battalion was dining almost under peace conditions in the Dining Hall, and all food was cooked in the new ovens.
