Entry Salvage operations were commenced. The Brigade had been organised into 4 groups, the Battalion together with 20 Sappers, 25 Gunners, 5 Heavy and 2 Light Trench Mortar Gunners forming No. 2 group under the command of Lt Col Hudson the Commanding Officer. The area allotted to No. 2 Group was the squares U.27 and C.2 (Ref maps sheets 57B and 62B 1/40,000). Salvage work was commenced, each company being allotted a definite area. Company dumps were formed, these being later transported to the Battalion dump, which in turn was converted to the Brigade Dump. Classes of instruction in P.T.B.T. under CSM Lamb, Army Gymnastic Staff, and in Map reading under Intelligence NCO's were formed.
