Entry | 09:00. Batt paraded in the Square LE CATEAU for the ceremony of the presentation of British Medals to the French Interpreters attached to the Army by General Sir Henry Rawlinson. Battalion's turn out was remarkably good. The Army Commander inspected the Battalion and then presented the medals. He then addressed the troops complimenting them on their turn out and recalling the fact that the Batt had served in the Army under his command for the greater part of its service abroad, and commenting on its battle history. 11:00. Moved by march route to PREMONT. Dinners were served on the march. PREMONT. 16:00. Arrived in billets. Battalion occupied the same billets as it did when moving forward before the attack in front of LE CATEAU. Accommodation was fairly good. |
