| Entry | A.B & D companies very heavily shelled in the wood just N of the YPRES - MENIN ROAD. At 11.45pm these three companies were relieved by the 1st Battalion Loyal North Lancs and marched back to the farm at 6th Bde HQ WESTHOEK in reserve. A heavy fusillade was opened by the enemy as we left the wood. Arrived 6th Bde HQ about 4am. 2/Lt Waghorn killed. Buried in the wood near chateau. |
