War Diary

1917-02-04
Regiment 8th Royal Berkshire
Location France, WARLOY
Entry 9:10AM. Battalion marched to the new Area which was being taken over from the 24th French Division. CERISSY. 1:30PM. Arrived and went into billets. These were in a better condition than were those occupied by the Battalion at WARLOY. It was a noticeable feature that the last two marches were accomplished, with only one man falling out on each occasion. In each instance the man who fell out did not do so until he had fainted. This formed the subject of a Special Order by the C.O. Whilst in this village the training consisted chiefly of route marches, followed by practicing "The attack from trenches."
