Entry | To 27.10.16. This period of rest at FRANLEU was devoted to the reorganisation of the Battalion, replacing of deficiencies in equipment and in the training of the men in open warfare tactics and in training specialists e.g. bombers, Lewis Gunners, Scouts and Snipers etc. The training which was carried out daily was worked on a progressive programme; commencing with the individual training of the soldier then leading on to Platoon and Company training and then the co-operation of Companies and Lewis Gunners in Battalion training. "Staffs" under qualified instructors were formed in musketry, bombing, bayonet fighting and physical drill. |
