Entry 12:30AM. A very heavy bombardment on our left under cover of which the 3rd Brigade attacked and captured MUNSTER ALLEY and the 1st Australian Division (having attacked and captured POZIERES on the night of 22nd/23rd) continued to push on by attacking O.G.I. And O.G.2., from the West, from X.5 b 2.0 up to and including the main BAPAUME ROAD. 8:0PM. Battalion was relieved in two front line trenches by 8th YORKS and LANCS Regt = 70th Infantry Brigade. BAIZIEUX WOOD. 8:0PM. On relief Battalion marched via ALBERT direct to BAIZIEUX WOOD where we went into bivouac at about 2:30am on 26th July.
