Entry 11:0AM. The Brigadier met C.O. and Company Commanders in conference in BECOURT CHATEAU-BECOURT WOOD. The trenches which were to be taken over in the evening were then reconnoitred. 7:0PM. Battalion left ALBERT and took over the two trenches near LOZENGE WOOD then occupied by the 10th Glosters who had relieved 24th Brigade during the afternoon. Battalion HQ was in a shelter by the side of the main road heading from FRICOURT to CONTAL MAISON (see attached maps). The following Officers of the Battalion were left behind in ALBERT as a reserve:- Capt C.G. BIRCH. 2nd Lieut D.W. PROUT. 2nd Lieut C.G.B. HARRISON. Capt H.R. FENNER. 2nd Lieut E.S. JOY. Also Regimental Sergeant Major P. BROWN.
