Location | France, CALONNE |
Entry | 9:30AM. The enemy's retaliation did considerable damage to our trenches but we suffered few casualties. Two Companies of YORKS attached to us for instruction left trenches for billets. 8:30PM. There was a minor operation along the whole Corps front which consisted of a smoke discharge for 15 minutes combined with artillery bombardment of the enemy's trenches. The smoke discharge from our front was very successful and called forth immediate and heavy artillery retaliation. 2nd Lieuts G. MARSH and L.G. EDENS joined the Battalion for duty. |
