Entry | 7:0AM. A Battalion parade was held on which the Colonel congratulated the Battalion on the manner in which, in spite of the heavy hostile artillery barrage, it had broken up the enemy's attempted raid on our trenches on the night of May 27th. He also announced that the following Officers and Non-commissioned Officers had received awards for their good work during the fighting at LOOS in September and October 1915. THE MILITARY CROSS: Captain C. Gentry BIRCH. Lieut P. Mc GIBBON RAMC. THE DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT MEDAL: 15574 Sergeant H.J. MUSTO. 10686 Corporal C. HAYWARD. THE MILITARY MEDAL: 14851 Sergeant J.J. WOODFIELD. 13229 Sergeant H.J. TURNER. 3:0PM. The Battalion played the 5th Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment at football. The match resulted in a draw of one goal each. |
