Entry 9:30PM. While the transport was on its way to the trenches with rations, a shell fell in its midst just before it entered BULLY. This shell killed the Quartermaster - Hon Lieut J. BARROW - who had been with the Battalion since its formation in September 1914. There were also six men killed and six other wounded. Eight horses were killed.
