| Entry | 10:0PM. Message came through over telephone "SOS GAS" signed by Northumberland Fusiliers. The Northumberland Fusiliers (we were informed a few minutes later) were a good distance on our right - south - but we could hear the strombus horns and the gas gongs going but we did not put on our helmets as there was no trace of gas near us. |
