Entry | H.M. King inspected the IV and XI Corps. The 1st Infantry Brigade sent a representative Battalion composed of representative companies drawn from the 10th Glosters, Black Watch, 8th R. Berkshires, Camerons and London Scottish. H.M. seemed very pleased with what he saw. It was just after this that his horse slipped. LILLERS. 9:45AM. Entrained. 10:15AM. Detrained. The Berks and Camerons were to be billeted here. The weather which had hitherto been autumnal, but fine, now broke, and there was much heavy rain. NOEUX-LES-MINES being very full, we had to wait over four hours in the open, in the rain, while billets were being found. Rain persisted practically the whole of the time we were in this town. |
