Entry | All available men to new barracks to clean up the place which the Bulgars had apparently used as a latrine - probably as they thought Roumanians were to occupy same. By dint of hard scraping and brushing and liberal use of cresol the rooms were made fit for habitation. The party moved into these billets at 1400 hrs. Numbers of Bulgars were still about the barracks. They were there to clean up and make the barracks fit for habitation. They did not appear to be doing their work very conscientiously. 2/Lt HYDE and 50 OR to station as guard. Their duty to inspect all trains moving S and unload all unauthorised stuff. Remainder of Bn arrived at 1900 hrs. The C.O. decided to remain on train all night and unload next morning as ramp in station would not be available for 6 hours at least. 2/Lt ADAM put in charge of train. Remainder of Officers to billet in town, which we had difficulty in obtaining. Remarks. 2 ORS sick to hospital. |
