War Diary

1918-12-12
Regiment 7th Royal Berkshire
Location ROUMANIA, DOBRIC
Entry 1st party under Major J.B. MARKS reached DOBRIC at 0800 hrs. Detrained at 1100 hrs. Then were put into Cavalry Barracks as other barracks, in which the Bn was eventually to go were not ready. The Cavalry Barracks were quite near the station and very clean except for the mud around. The mud deserves special mention as the worst we've yet met with on active service. Remainder of Bn were hung up at DEVNA waiting for coal which was eventually brought from VARNA on the next day. Officers of the first party were billeted at Hotel BORIS, the landlady of which was an Austrian and decidedly hostile. Mess was put up in a barbers shop next door. Remarks. 3 ORS sick to hospital.
