Entry | Work as usual on main line and outpost line and wire - also upon Batt HQ and Coy camps. Day quiet along the front. Our heavy guns were wire cutting at MAC D preparatory to raid by A Coy of this Battn. On the night 29th/30th A Coy left our lines to raid the enemy trenches at approx point 11428/17787 viz F19 S37, CTS S36, S38 see sketch and operation orders. The raiding party reached the poiunt of deployment for the attack 1143/17765 at the time estimated 2245 hrs but when the enemy wire was reconnoitred no gap was sufficiently large to get raiding party through was found. Raiding party returned to our lines without incident. In reply to our artillery barrage on enemy line, the enemy shelled PETIT PITON and AL4. Our casualties - NIL. (Ref map SMOL 3A 1/20000).
