Entry Work continued as yesterday. Further burning of grass was carried out and there only remains a small area behind the Sector to be burnt now. Enemy artillery inactive during the day. At about 0120 hrs an enemy machine gun on PITON DES MITRAILLEUSES fired on our Left Bombing Post in front of AL4, but without effect. Our aircraft have been very active during the last few days. An enemy machine gun on the DOME fired at one of our aeroplanes. Machine guns behind JUMEAU and on the NOSE also fired at our aeroplanes later in the morning. The enemy has been very busy camouflaging various parts of his trenches during the last few days. He pays more attention now to camouflage than he has done previously. Night of 12th/13th. C Coy relieved D Coy in the Left Coy Subsector L7 and L8, D Coy moving back to MORGAN GULLY into Batt Reserve.
