Entry Work continued on new HQ camp and upon main line and outpost line. Enemy artillery fired two rounds 77mm on L6, otherwise was inactive during the day. Enemy heavy trench mortars registered between CRETES DES TENTES to BANGOR RAVINE, Rifle Grenades were also fired - 2030 hrs. Enemy machine guns fired two bursts in the direction of MACUKOVO VILLAGE during the evening. A patrol of 1 Officer and 10 ORS (Batt Scouts) reconnoitred BORDER RAV and East end of MACUKOVO RAVINE. MACUKOVO R was found to be very steep W of DOUBLE HILL. BORDER RAV is hardly discernible in places and nowhere more than two or three ft deep N of Macukovo. Track it is flanked by long grass and considerable amount of course marsh grass. No enemy movement was heard while patrol was out. Remarks. 2 ORS to hospital (sick), 1 OR to Base for Commission, 3 OR rejoined.
