Entry Work by day as usual. Work on new outpost positions continued. Principal work done has been upon wiring in these positions and digging slits and shelters. A patrol of 1 NCO and 8 ORS - protective patrol - operated between co-ordinates 11265/1764 and 1113/17675 but had nothing to report. Between 2315 hrs and 0040 hrs 19 T.M. shells were fired by enemy from PITON DES MITRAILLEUSES. Enemy was probably registering. Our artillery fired on enemy working parties on the DOME. At 0900 hrs enemy 77mm Battery from direction of GUEVGUELI registered a barrage BANGOR - CARDIFF RAVINES, PITON DE L'EGLISE, PITON DES 4 ARBRES and at 1000 hrs battery from direction of BOGORODICA registered, MACUKOVO RAVINE, PITON DE L'EGLISE, PITON 4 ARBRES, MULBERRY HILL, MULBERRY WOOD. 2/LT R.E. CHILDS returned from STAVROS change of Air Camp.
