Entry Work on trenches and wire and also upon mosquito proof sun shelters. Patrol of 2 officers (Capt ELLIS and 2/LT PEARCE) and 15 ORS left M6 and reconnoitred MACUKOVO and junction of BANGOR and MACUKOVO RAVINES and of CARDIFF and MACUKOVO RAVINES. No enemy movement was seen or heard. Progress through the village was difficult and noisy owing to stones and debris. Our artillery was cutting gaps in enemy wire on PITON DES MITRAILLEUSES during the day. Enemy artillery shelled with 105 mm - M4 MM2. Between 1200-1210 enemy shelled whole line of M Sector. 1650 enemy registered his own line from the NOSE to PITON DES MITRAILLEUSES and registered on PITON des 4 ARBRES and PITON de L'EGLISE. During the night 27th/28th he bombarded our front line at intervals. Remarks. 1 OR to hospital (sick).
