| Entry | Coys worked on trenches and wire blocks. 2/Lt A.V. Shillcock and Batt Scouts patrolled along W side of PRONG RAVINE to Y Ravine. Patrol was fired upon with trench mortars from PITON DES MITRAILLEUSES. Patrol withdrew to cover. Forward scouts again went forward and heard footsteps in MACUKOVO RAVINE but on arrival at the spot by remainder of patrol nothing could be seen of the enemy who apparently disappeared up BANGOR RAVINE towards PITON DES MITRAILLEUSES. At the same time 2/Lt DOWNER and 8 OR patrolled to PITON DE L'EGLISE and found and old disused trench upon the hill. No enemy patrols were seen or heard. Enemy artillery fired 10 (105mm) on M6 and MM8 at 1725 hrs. Remarks. 2 OR to hospital. |
