Entry Coys worked on trenches and wire. A raiding party consisting of A Coy under Capt E.W. RAVENSHEAR and 3 Officers, and a party of 20 ORS, D Coy under 2/LT G.I. BERRY left DAULTI TRACK POST, the main party to raid enemy outpost position NW of SELIMLI (pt 11680/18175 - POBREG MAP 2A), and the party under 2/Lt BERRY to make a demonstration against WHITE SCAR HILL to draw enemy attention and fire. The main raiding party was prevented from attaining its object by the difficulty of the country, and the darkness of the night. A deep ravine was encountered, and a crossing could not be found. The party making the demonstration against WHITE SCAR HILL succeeded in drawing enemy attention. The enemy opened considerable volume of rifle fire and put down a barrage in HAM RAVINE and also shelled GOLDIES HILL. The 57th Brig FA co-operated in this raid, and one Battery of 115th Brig FA no enemy patrols were encountered. The raiding parties withdrew without casualties to SELIMLI-DERESI, and then to our own main line. Remarks. 2 OR to hospital.
