Entry | At 1100 hostile aeroplane circled over KIDNEY HILL but was driven off by our guns. 4HE (4.2) were fired just S.W. of KIDNEY CAMP at 1200hrs and 2 field gun shells burst in front of E8 at 1700hrs. Between 1645-1715 enemy appeared to be registering on WHALE BACK, 15 field gun shells being fired chiefly on W end. Very cold wind (N) blowing all day, overclouded. Our patrols had nothing to report. The new FT started on WHALE BACK which when occupied will considerably straigthen our line. 3 field gun shells fired on to WHALE BACK at 2115hrs otherwise quiet night. Remarks. 2 OR reinforcements join Battn, 3 OR rejoin from hospital. |
