Entry There was practically no shelling all day beyond a few field gun shells into FUSILIER RAVINE and 3 HE (4.2) by junction D6 and D8 in retaliation to a five minutes bombardment by us at 1145hrs. By War Office letter the following have been struck off strength of the Battn MAJOR C.E. BIRCH with effect from 1/7/16, CAPT T.H. GILL with effect from 27/12/16 and CAPT L. MARTON, CAPT W.P. COLLINS and LT BOOTH JONES with effect from 5/1/17. Patrols heard slight working on W slope MAMELON the artillery was turned on. LT TROUP to hospital 2/2/17 fever NYD. At 2230 the Trench Mortar on PETIT COURONNE fired about 40 shells on to the right of our Sector, at PERUIZE quiet night.
