Entry Wet and misty mng. Cleared later. CO to Chateau at noon to receive orders re relief of trenches. Five Companies of 239th French Infantry arrived at ENGLEFIELD and proceeded to trenches. Companies marched independently to billets at BOURG. A Coy (Lt Belcher) preceded Btn at 5.30pm and took over duties at BOURG from 2/Connaught Rangers. Body of No 9905 Pte Kinchin killed 14.9.14 found and buried. Lt Woods returned to duty from hospital
