| Entry | In LA HOUSSOYE. Fine & very hot. Battn marched to VAUX-EN-AMIENOIS via QUERRIEUX & AMIENS. Started at 8-30am. BRIG: GEN: MacAndrew (Act Div Gen) inspected us on march after we had passed QUERRIEUX. Bn halted for two hours outside AMIENS for dinner & rest. Started again at 2-15pm. Arrived at VAUX at 5-30pm. March was very hot and dust very bad. Billets rather cramped at first. Men are in barns & some have wire beds. 11th S Lancashire Pioneers (30th Div) billeted here. |
