Location | France, Corbie. |
Entry | The Battn marched to ETINEHEM. Starting at 8-30am we went into billets at 1pm. The day was hot, the roads bad - hilly & full of wheeled traffic. No 10248 - Bn Sgt Major G Feeney and 10266 Coy Sgt Major W Knowler & 12137 Pte HG Drake (B Coy) were sent to the Base as "unfit for service with the Battalion. Billets in ETINEHEM, filthy and the situation much neglected. Officers billets not good nor plentiful. During the early part of the night an enemy aeroplane dropped bombs on the outskirts of the village and returned without being fired at. Weather good. |
