Entry A patrol of one Sgt & 2 men which went out about 4-30 am - was reported missing. This patrol returned at about 7 pm having sat all day in a shell-hole under the enemy parapet. This patrol brought back good information about wire & loop-holes. C & D Coys were relieved by 2 Coys of the 16th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers. Our Coys went into billets in ALBERT. At 3.25 pm the enemy exploded a mine on our L. The Trench mortars and Field Guns co-operated. No harm was done to us by mine or shell. A little later our Artillery replied with good effect & by 4-30 pm had quietened the enemy.
