Entry Relieved 8th Norfolks in the trenches. During the relief No 15536 - Pte H Ashley - A Coy - & 12405 - Pte LJ Bale - B coy - were wounded, and No 12716 - Pte S Gale - A Coy - wounded himself. Found by Court of Enquiry to be accidental. Nothing unusual to record during the rest of the day as far as the trenches go. L/Cpl Gibbons - D Coy - went to NCOs course - 3rd Army School. ALBERT heavily bombarded from 9 to 11pm. All Coy telephones done away with - all messages being carried by runners. Trenches in pretty bad condition, especially on the right of the line where the soil is clay - on the left in the chalk the conditions were slightly better.
