| Entry | Rain continued to fall during the night and the trenches were blocked in many places. Telephone wires come down, as the walls give way & every man that could be taken from other duties is working on the repairing the parapets - cleaning out the floors of the trenches, & restoring such shelters as collapsed during the night. The Signal Section are working on the wires. The brigadier visited the trenches - and was shown around by Lt Col Dowell. During the evening more of the trenches fell in & were dealt with at once. The enemy were fairly active with rifle grenades & Machine-Guns about 7pm. |
