Entry 2/Lt EEL Phillips shot at 6-20am - died at 11-30am. The night was quiet, a fact due to our artillery replying at once to all sausages. Capt W Hewetson proceeds on 8 days leave. Lt FC Heffer takes over the duties of adjutant. Col METCALF called to enquire how new arrangements for replying to sausages worked - 12-30 noon - Private E Prior and AE Root of "A" Coy wounded by Rifle Grenade.
