War Diary

1915-10-27
Regiment 6th Royal Berkshire
Location France, La Boiselle
Entry Enemy very busy with sausages etc - which are falling in our lines at various places. Our own guns are practically silent. The Brigadier came round the trenches at 1-30pm. The weather is dull & cold. During the night the Germans sent over 18 to 20 sausages - doing some damage to our parapets & trenches. Our Artillery replied infrequently and ineffectively. Altogether during the 24 hours the enemy sent over 41 sausages of heavy calibre into our trenches. No casualties amongst the men occurred.
