Entry At 8am - 15 French aeroplanes flew over the enemy's lines in a NE direction. At 1.15pm our artillery commenced to bombard enemy's lines. This was kept up until about 4pm. Again at 5pm it began and was sustained for about an hour. The enemy's reply was small. Ptes Read, AG Povey and GE Gregory - "A" Coy were killed by a sausage which fell on their dugout. Ptes Cook & Drew - "D" Coy were wounded.
