Entry | Morning quiet - About 5pm enemy began with sausages and guns & rifle-grenades. Of these they sent over a large number into the R of our line doing some damage to our fire & communications trenches. Pte Tuttle - C Coy wounded. During the day the Germans fired into ALBERT, aiming evidently at the church & the falling figure of the VIRGIN. In the evening our 6 inch Howitzers did some good shooting on the enemy's trenches. A great deal of rifle fire started on our R about 7.15pm. |
