Regiment | 6th Royal Berkshire |

Location | France, Bray |
Entry | Quiet day - some shelling both on our & the enemy's part - during the night bombs were thrown by the enemy as well as rifle-grenades with no result. We replied to these with bombs. Most of the german offensive occurs between the hours of 7pm & 10. About 8.30pm the enemy exploded a mine about 10 yards in front of our left sector which did little or no damage - at 9.20 they exploded a second mine which caused about 50 yards of sandbag fortification to collapse, doing no other damage. Fatigue parties were brought up and the damage repaired at once. |
