| Entry | Beautiful weather. In mng 6" Howitzer shelled valley persistently and heavily. At 1.30 Canal Bank burst as result of shell. Big flood of water down ditch west of canal had to be diverted back to canal after lock to avoid flooding of trenches. In evg much cheering and noise in German lines. Much transport heard in BRAYE village during night. Canal break was 30yds N of Ecluse. No casualties. |
