Location France, Flers Trench
Entry At 1.50p.m. the 7th Suffolk and 7th Norfolk Regts attacked with the object of capturing BAYONET and SCABBARD trenches. Though successful in places, some parts of the line were held up by uncut wire and by 7p.m. both Bns were back in their front line trenches. The 9th ESSEX Regt took over the front line when the leading Bns moved to the assault and at 8.30p.m. we received orders to take over the position in SMOKE support trenches. Bn Headquarters transferred to BULL'S Road. Casualties:- 2 o.r. killed, 6 o.r. wounded.
