Location France, In the Reserve Trenches Sector D II
Entry 7am. The enemy sprang a mine opposite Sap 8 (Unit on our right) and opened up with Artillery and Trench Mortar Batteries on our trenches, without doing much damage. 9am. The dispositions of Companies was changed. C and A and B with D Company. 7.30pm. The enemy opened up an intense bombardment with Artillery of all calibres Trench Mortars and Arial Torpedos, and continued until 9pm. There were no casualties at all from this bombardment. Our Artillery and Trench Mortars retaliated and the remainder of the night passed quietly. Casualties 2 Killed 8 wounded - O. Ranks 2/Lt R.D.H. NOTMAN rejoined from Hospital
