Entry At about 11p.m. Captain G.W. Hopton and 2nd Lieut A.R. Treherne, Regtal [Regimental] Intelligence Officer, were both mortally wounded by rifle fire while outside Trench 115. 2nd Lieut Treherne died in a few minutes after being brought back to the trenches. Captain Hopton lived for about an hour and died on the journey down to Head Quarters. No 11058 Pte W. Roxbee 'B' Coy dangerously wounded by rifle bullet died 31st July No 10503 L/Corp E. Baker wounded by rifle bullet
