Entry Battn marched to bivouac in PLUGSTREET sic [PLOEGSTEERT] WOOD and were attached to the 145th Inftry Brigade, consisting of 4th Gloster Regt, 4th Oxford & Bucks L.I., 1st Bucks L.I. and 4th R Berkshire Regt under the command of Br. General W.K. McClintock, for instruction in trench Warfare. 'A' Coy Major Bayley, went into the trenches being attached by platoons to Coys of 4th Oxf: & Bucks: L.I. The frontage held by this Battn is about 2000 yards and the trenches are numbered 37, 30, 39, 40, 61, 62, 63. The MESSINES - ARMENTIERES road runs about midway through the frontage and the German trenches are from 300 yards to 400 yards distant.
