Entry The day was quiet with very little artillery activity on either side. Our artillery opened up a sharp burst of fire at 4.30pm and were active during the night, 18 pdrs. subjecting the enemy Support Lines to a good deal of shrapnel and heavies firing intermittently on Back Areas. Aerial activity during the day and night was very considerable at 8.50pm, 15 of our aeroplanes crossed the enemy lines and fired on their trenches. One enemy machine was reported brought down in their own lines on our left.
