Entry At 8am our Artillery opened up a heavy bombardment on our LEFT, covering Raiding Parties from 183/INF BDE, and DIVISION on our LEFT. Five Prisoners and 1Machine Gun were captured. At 5.30pm about 50 Gas shells were fired against our Breastworks on the RIGHT of the LES AMUSOIRES ROAD and the vicinity of Bn HQ. Captain H G HOWITT DSO MC Brigade Major, and his Orderly were gassed, and Sergt MARTIN died of wounds. A further 8 OR's were wounded during the course of the day. 3 Coys were working under RE supervision, 2 by DAY and 1 by NIGHT.
